We got a new dog today and he's so cute!!! He's 6 months old, full blooded golden retriever, and we love him already! We got him from a woman on free-cycle who was moving and couldn't take him with her. She wanted a good home for him so he wouldn't be bounced around from home to home. My husband and I offered to take him in, since we have a 3 year old son. They are playing together and getting along like best friends. I'm really glad we were able to take him into our home. His previous owner was very happy that he got a good home, and I'm glad we got a good dog. I'll have to take a picture of him and put it in my profile for everyone to see.

That is great news!
I love it when young children are raised with animals because I think it takes away the fear and gives them a chance to pour their love into caring for 'something.'
What is the dog's name?
Did you keep the original name he had or did your son pick a new name for him?
His name is Bossing. We kept his original name.
The dog looks so adorable! I wanted a golden retriever too, but I'm not so sure how we can manage a big dog around here. Now we have just one dog, our four year old Zune, a shih tzu :)
