Last Thursday when we got home, my father-in-law was bitten by my daughter's cat. His foot accidentally landed on the cat and the cat might badly hurt. After applying first aid to the injured foot, we rushed him to a nearby hospital. He was given an anti-rabies vaccine and a anti-tetanus vaccine. The anti-rabies which cost around $30 each dose will be given 5 times. It was a pain in the pocket, but just to be sure, he will undergo all dose.
At first i thought only dogs have rabies. Since exposure to rabies could be fatal, we should be careful with our pets in the house. The rabies virus can infect almost any mammal. It is shed in the saliva and transmitted typically by bite wounds. Without treatment, the virus eventually attacks the nervous system and may result death. Labels: Animals
