Yesterday was my son's birthday

Yesterday was my son's birthday. He turned 5!!! I can't believe he's already that old. He's getting big WAY too fast! We had a party for him and all of his friends showed up. He was really excited. They played pin the tail on the donkey, and he was the closest! It was such a fun day. I took lots of pictures. I almost cried too, since he's growing up so fast. Have you ever cried on your children's birthday because you were sad that they were getting older? How did you deal with it? I feel as if he'll be grown before I know it, and it scares me.

It would be great to adopt a child

If you could physically have your own children, would you? Or would you rather adopt? I think it would be great to adopt a child because there are so many homeless children in the world, and all they need is a loving home. The foster system is swarmed with babies, teens, and pre-teens, just looking to be loved by a caring family. I have one child of my own, and because of our situation at the moment, I know we wouldn't be accepted as adoption parents.

However, once we get our own home, which hopefully will be in the next year or two, I really would like to try to adopt a child. If I can help the life of a small child, and show them the love that they never received from their birth parents, then that would be total satisfaction for me.

What are your thoughts on this?

illegal immigrant

I am in school, and there was a girl in my class who said that she prefers the term "illegal Mexican". I've never heard anyone use this term before. All I've ever heard is "alien". So what do you think about this? Do you think that calling them "aliens" is alright, or should we start calling them illegal "Mexicans"? Personally, I think Mexicans sounds better, because when I think of aliens, I think of little green creatures from outer space. Last time I checked, Mexicans aren't green, and they don't live in outer space. I would love to hear everyone else's opinion on this.

Home Instead Senior Care

I'm not sure how many of you have heard of Home Instead Senior Care, but it is a wonderful company. Basically, they hire caregivers to go to seniors' homes and help them with everyday tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, and dishes. This helps keep the senior at home, instead of being put in a nursing home. I am one of the lucky caregivers employed by this agency. If you know of any seniors who are on the verge of being placed in a nursing home, please contact a local Home Instead Agency and see if this person can possibly stay in their house.

Aggravated with cell phone service!

Does your cell phone company screw you over on your bills? Do they add extra charges every month, some of which you have never even heard of? Does your bill get higher every month? That is the case with me. I have had my cell phone since November, and it has gone up EVERY single month. It never stays the same or gets lower. They keep adding charges to my bill, and I have literally called them every month to get something erased from my bill because they charged me for something I never used or ordered. I just paid my bill last week, and this morning, my phone was shut off. I contacted my company to find out what was going on. They informed me that my bill was $250 and I had to pay it in full before my phone would be turned back on. I informed the woman that I just paid my bill last week, and that bills are only supposed to be generated once a MONTH, not once a WEEK. She looked at my account and saw the problem. They had started charging me EXTRA for long distance. It's already covered in my plan, but they decided to charge me for my regular plan, which included the long distance, and then turn around and charge me for all long distance minutes used. I was on the phone for 45 minutes talking with 3 different people before they finally took the charges off my account and turned my phone back on. Has this ever happened to you? I am so aggravated, I told the woman today that this was the last straw. If my phone gets shut off again because of something they tried to screw me on, I will discontinue my service and go somewhere else.

Full House

I grew up on this show, and still watch it as much today, as I did back then. I know all the episodes are re-runs, but I love watching them and seeing the girls grow up. I have always been drawn to Jodie Sweeten, the girl who plays Stephanie. I always liked her more than DJ or Michelle. I actually got to meet Jodie a few years ago, at the convention center in Indiana. It was great. I got her to autograph a picture of her that I brought with me. Unfortunately I lost the picture during one of my many moves. Ever since i realized it was missing, I have always wanted to meet her again so I could get another autograph, and get the chance to meet her again. I think she's an amazing person. My son is 3 years old, and he also watches Full House. I'm sure it will be one of those shows that will be watched by my great grandkids some day. I won't be surprised if people are still watching it in the year 3000.

I just joined the Hinder Street Team

I just joined the Hinder Street Team a couple nights ago and it's really fun. It's 100$ free to join; all you have to do is commit to promoting their band. Post bulletins on myspace, hang up tour flyers, visit their page often, etc. They also have missions, or as they call them, "orders." Once you complete an order, such as putting a picture of them as your default myspace picture, they give you points and store credits. The store isn't open yet, but they will be opening it soon. I've heard there are a lot of awesome things that will be in it.

I changed my major

A few months ago, I changed my major. I am now going for Early Childhood Education. I have always wanted to work with children, so after careful consideration, I realized that I want to be a teacher, preferrably preschool or kindergarten. I will have my Associates Degree in September 2010, and then I'm going to pursue my Bachelor's. I'm so excited! How many other college students do we have here? What are you going for? When will you graduate? Do you take classes on campus, or online? I take mine online.

Older shows that I grew up with!

I am. I watch this show every night and I love it. I've been watching it since I was younger. It's something about Will Smith. I can't get enough of him, lol. My son is also going to grow up watching this show. He always watches it with me, and always says "Mommy, there's Will!" It's so cute. I'm glad that he takes after me and likes some of the older shows that I grew up with. Do any of you watch The Fresh Prince every night, or at least once in a while?

How many bloggers moved this year?

How many bloggers moved this year? I did! We moved to a new apartment January 1st, and I must admit, I love it more than my old one! It's much bigger than what I'm used to. The living room is a significant difference in the amount of space. I love the way everything is set up. Plus, I love the new area that we moved to. It's about twenty minutes away from our old apartment, and my son had to change schools, but it's for the best. A fresh new start this year is just what we needed!
